Now that you've done the hardest, let's use foobar a little bit more..
![]()
![]()
- remove: removes the track from the playlist
- crop: removes all files except the selected ones
- fix mp3 header: no use for the moment
- properties: there you can know more about your files and change some of the tags
- convert: for later, it's too early to use it already
- freedb: To me, that's why foobar is really good
- masstagger: The second thing for why I think foobar is amazing
- save playlist: do what is said
- open directory: open the directory of the selected track in the explorer
- massdelete: extra component get it from here, to delete the file ITSELF. take care of its use. Useful to delete files if you have several examples of the same track
Properties
Note
- If you download foo_infobox selecting "show file info special" (see up) will display a more sympayhetic field which is nearly the same as properties, but far easier of use:
![]()
Freedb
Who hasn't always dreamed of having all his music files perfectly completed?
Now it's time for action
select a whole album, with the songs in the correct order (or it won't work, foobar is great but not clever) right click
- get tags: to get some tags about your album, click on tag files after having selected the fields that you want to change and with which possibility
- manual query: could be very useful associated with the official site: www.freedb.org (just take care for the genre field, if it isn't the good one selected it won't work)
- search: to search manually, but I think it is better to do it with the official site www.freedb.org, if it works, will do the same as get tags with the matching album(s)
- configure, no use for the moment
- get tags multiple album, the same as get tags.. for multiple albums
![]()
- choose the kind of tags you want, to be sure, I advice you to click on the preview button, to select the best filled tags and have more choice, it isn't always the first album matching which is the best one
- click on the tag files button after having chosen the fields to edit
Masstagger
Want to rename your tracks depending on their tags? Let's go..
right click, masstaggerrename
I think the option proposed is a good one, for more advanced features.. We will see next.
It will rename your files with : "tracknumber". "title of the track"
just change from "%tracknumber%. %title%" to "$num(%tracknumber%,2). %title%".
Instead of renaming your files:
like this it will do like that

You will see that it's better after, because the files are added depending of their file path by default and with the default renaming option,
it will be added like this instead of like that
